A couple of amateur sports bettors with various approaches to getting the right results. Sometimes it comes down to a coin flip, others it’s the hours of research put forth. Either way, we enjoy making plays and parlays to build up our kids’ college funds and our wives jewelry collections.

Week 4
Tennessee @ Oklahoma
Josh Heupel returns to Norman like the long-lost relative who once brought glory to the household, only to be cast out—and now, he’s back with a vengeance. Tennessee’s offense has been a wrecking ball, obliterating everything in its path, but this game will be its first real test. On the other side, Oklahoma’s offense is like a young giraffe learning to walk under a new offensive coordinator, still trying to find its stride amidst injuries.
Forget the “first SEC game” hype. OU isn’t some newbie like Cincinnati once was—they’re a battle-hardened contender. The real story? Oklahoma’s O-line and receivers trying to outmaneuver a fierce Tennessee front seven. If the Sooners were sweating against Tulane’s D-line, they’d better brace themselves for the Volunteers’ onslaught. Tennessee’s been cruising, averaging 42-1 at halftime, but those were cupcake matchups. Saturday night COULD be a reality check, with Iamaleava potentially cracking under the pressure.
An unproven OU quarterback facing a historically strong SEC team. Sounds a bit like 2015, doesn’t it? Maybe Jackson Arnold will have his Baker Mayfield moment, but he doesn’t have Sterling Shepard, Samaje Perine, or Joe Mixon to back him up. If the spread pushes to +7, Oklahoma might cover. But as it stands, Tennessee -6.5 looks like the smarter bet.
The Pick: Tennessee -6.5
